Oh, Canada!

At the end of May (2023) we flew out to Vancouver, Canada.

For many years, even before we met, we’d had an interest in Canada. Whilst taking a break from work, this was our opportunity to explore this very large country. We had researched what we could before travelling, and it seemed possible that a tourist could buy, register and insure a motorhome in Canada; specifically in three provinces, one of which was British Columbia. We also had the support of our new and very kind friends who, by chance, lived in BC.

We initially stayed in a nice hotel to have some city-time before travelling out into the wilderness, and this served as a base to get admin done.

We had already made contact with the Vancouver office for Canadream, and once we had some basics covered, we went to see what they had. Fast forward a few days, we owned a Forest River 27ft Forester on a Ford E-450. Then we hit the road with a loose plan for going to Vancouver Island first, then head north (via Stewart and the Cassiar Highway) to Whitehorse in Yukon.
