On the 1st July (Canada day) we took the ferry from Departure Bay on Vancouver Island to Horseshoe Bay Vancouver to begin our journey North towards Whitehorse in the Yukon. We spent a few nights in the Vancouver area, staying at a miniature horse ranch and a harvest Host honey farm, before taking highway 97 to a campsite in Clinton near Cache Creek. After being without WiFi for a week we spent a day doing admin (route planning, campsite booking, catching up with family and laundry) and took a walk into Clinton, a town on the old gold rush wagon trail where there are lots of interesting sights. That night we had take out halibut and chips for dinner from the campsites owner, absolutely delicious and then we were back on the road the next morning heading to another provincial park called Bowron Lake where hopefully we won’t have any overnight mouse guests!!!
