After driving down the Alaska Highway we were looking forward to a few nights in Jasper National Park and it didn’t disappoint! We crossed the provincial border from British Columbia into Alberta and jumped a time zone. The weather was iffy but our pitch at Whistler’s campground was perfect; we had fabulous views, fantastic neighbours (Anita & Mark, and Axel the totally gorgeous Rottweiler!) and there were a lot of hikes to do! Again sometimes we lost the views due to smoke and/or bad weather but we loved our time exploring Jasper town and the surroundings; Maligne Canyon and the Fort trail being our favourites. But the true highlight of our stay in Jasper were the Elk that grazed and slept all throughout our campsite! We kept a safe distance as they are wild animals but it was just amazing to see them wandering around so close to motorhomes and tents.
